In my heart and in my cart + other things
In My Heart -
It’s been a much needed, completely normal and boring week around here. After a long summer of nonstop plans, it felt really nice to just stay home. We popped out here and there for an ice cream cone and to walk to the beach, but only after finding ourselves lazing around with nothing to do in the evening, which is somehow more luxuriant than having it pre-planned and feeling obligated to do those things.

+Listened to the new Ariana album. I had some work to bang out on Friday morning, so I put the album on and my head down and just got after it. Needs a second listen and then a third, but already love it. Girl can bop!
+School starts in about a week and a half and I’m 50/50 about all this. Looking forward to getting my quiet afternoons back, but not excited about the hustle that comes with getting back on a real routine. Bedtimes, lunch prep, waking people up on time. We’ll get into the rhythm but boy do I love the way we can just coast in the summer months.
+Related: It’s still summer.
+Also related: September is just January with better weather, so I shall get it together! First order of business, a new agenda. I’m a simple gal, but I like color options.

+I ordered this cork board for my home office. Simple but I think it’ll do the trick!
+I’ve really been enjoying these Recess sparkling waters as an after work wind-down. Probably placebo but I do feel chilled out.
+Related: anyone tried this coffee brand? I’m a sucker for the design and the interesting flavors.
+Speaking of simple, I bought this towel for cleaning stainless steel with just water and it is an actual miracle! The endless fridge finger prints drive me bananas and this takes care of them with water!
+I’m on the hunt for a lightly designer belt - say Coach or Tori Burch, maybe? Just something to zjush up a basic work outfit, but nothing I need to be too precious with.
Other Things -
+Oh boy did I enjoy this game of FMK featuring sitcom homes. The Wisteria Lane homes are woefully underrepresented though.
+Currently reading this. Prepping for my turn at Jeopardy, obviously.
+9 lists to make to radically improve your life. I particularly like “proof you’re actually really good at this.”
