In My Heart -
+A very exciting thing happened yesterday! My go-to starter word for Wordle was THEE word. I’ve been waiting for this day since 2020 and it felt like an omen for the day, on a Friday no less! What a head rush!
+I watched Marty Supreme finally and hm, I wonder what all the hullabaloo was about. It was fine. I know I’m a full 6 months late to this, but it feels recent to me. Anyway, I don’t hate stories with unlikeable protagonists and Marty is easily detestable, but I just couldn’t find a way to care about Marty’s story. He’s just such a turd.
+Related: I have been heartily recommending Eternity because I thought that was such a fun watch and Callum is probably the most attractive man I’ve ever seen. I’d pick his eternity for sure.
+How was your week? First full week of summer by the way, and the weather where I live has been such a treat. Warm but not uncomfortable. Feels good indoors and out. My job gave me some obstacles to hurdle jump, but ended the week with a FIFA watch party and my opinion is always alls well that ends well, so it was a nice send-off to the weekend.
My family is getting into the summer groove, by which I mean we’re locking into our new routines. There’s always a little bit of a transition phase when we’re switching up childcare and whatnot, but we’re doing okay. I don’t really subscribe to the romanticized version of 90’s summer that’s trending right now, mostly because I remember those and it was a lot more episodes of Maury and people smoking cigarettes indoors than IG and TT care to remember, but I am making the kids go outside to play and letting them watch morning cartoons at their leisure. I bought a hose and encouraged them to, you know, drink from it. Haha - they were delighted.
Other than that, it’s all business as usual around here! Gearing up for the holiday weekend next week and having family pile in for most of July (on and off, different groups, it’ll be fun! Ask me about the laundry in August).
In My Cart -
+There was a Prime Day sale, in case you didn’t hear. Lol. I mostly just bought what I always buy, but I did get a lightning deal for the Lemme Sleep gummies for $14 that sparked some joy.
+Also restocked my supply of Vacation SPF. I buy a 3-pack and with a Prime Day sale, it’s usually cheaper per bottle than drugstore SPF. This time they came out to $10/each and it smells so good, I’ll actually wear it. Worth it IMO.
+Love LOVE this sun hat with a fun paracord feature. Trendy and functional, that’s a happy overlap on the Venn diagram.
+Simple, and I love this shade of blue.
+Still time to grab this bomb pop pool floaty before the 4th of July. Or this $5 striped tube.
+Wouldn’t be the week before FoJ if I didn’t remind you about this melted bomb pop flavor of sparkling water.
+I swear! Last bomb pop reference! But come on, festive pajamas for adults? I’m sold.
