+How do you take your coffee? I was recently on a coffee run and indulged in a bit of snoopy people watching. Even if we’re talking about a basic pot of coffee, the customizations are vast! I like a dark roast with 1 Splenda and a healthy pour of half and half. My husband is loyal to his French press made specifically with LaVazza Super Crema beans that he grinds each morning, which he then drinks black. My sister likes the funky flavored coffee (blueberry muffin! Bananas Foster! Etc.) with heavy-whip. It’s fun to find our identity in small, consistent choices, no?

How do you take yours?

+Fall is here. That’s all she wrote on summertime. It’s officially fall and on Friday evening when I popped out to get ice cream and go for a drive around the lake, I found our local ice cream shop closed for the season. It feels so early! But perhaps because September is often warm with a few lingering beach days. This year though, it turned cool right after Labor Day. I’ve been in socks and hoodies for a couple weeks now and I probably should turn on the heat. Everything in its time and now it’s time.

One perk: it’s Snoopy Jazz season!

+Biography podcast. The narrator has a flair for unnecessary drama that is frankly speculative and probably false, but I’m enjoying it nonetheless. I listened to parts 1 and 2 of the life of Elizabeth II and just wrapped up the episode about Henry VIII.

In the latter episode, the narrator described KH8 as “giving a heavy sigh” as he leaned down to kiss his dying wife and that’s the unnecessary flair I’m talking about. Sir, you don’t know what sounds came out of a king 500 years ago, please stick to the facts.

+Nesting. Surely it’s the changing season, but I’m hungry for some change around my house. That and making everything cozy. My kitchen has my attention currently. We painted it when we moved in 11 years ago and while it’s fine, I just think it could use a little zjush. My Pinterest algorithm has caught on and I’m served plenty of ideas to mull over.

My kitchen is currently painted millennial gray (it was 2015 okay!) and has wood cabinetry that I’m not eager to paint or change. This popped up on my feed and I think, maybe this is it?! The dark backsplash, I mean. The rest of the kitchen’s coloring is very similar to my own and so this feels doable.
