A Little Bit of Shopping | February 2026
Sooooo, winter is back. Which I realistically knew would happen, but man, it was still such a drag to see snow falling from the sky after a good week of sunshine and 45º days. I’m trying to keep it positive though! That one sunny week recharged my batteries and now I’m ready to take on whatever is left of winter. I mean, I’m definitely going to heavily sigh my way through it, but that’s my usual demeanor, not seasonal depression. And anyway, February is almost over. March is pretty on and off as far as weather goes, and by April, we’re home freeeeee baby!
Related: I’ve been feeling a little shoppy lately. Call it boredom perusing, because I am SICK of all my cold weather clothes. I’ve worn these boots at least 1,000 times and they are good but I’m ready to switch into flippy-floppies immediately. And if that’s not realistic - which to be clear, it’s so not - I can at least shop around for some, right?
Let’s discuss the internet and it’s present offerings, shall we?
J. CREW Finds - Pajama Set // Button Down Cardigan // Gold Belt // Necklace // Tortoise Shell Purse
I’m always surprised when the Substack girlies promote J. Crew as some kind of bargain economy brand but maybe I’m just more poor than I realize. I find the brand to be nice quality with a price that matches. For days when I’m in the office and have to be presentable and professional, I’ve had really good luck with their crisp basics. And I will always peruse the jewelry because of course it’s costume, but the gold finish doesn’t immediately tarnish like Baublebar does, so I don’t feel like I’m throwing my money in the trash can.
Blue Flip-Flops: The look // The look for less // The summery maxi dress of my dreams
I dream about warm weather daily and the idea of having bare arms and my toes out feels like a fantasy. And in my fantasy, I’m wearing this exactly.
Back to reality: The coat for when the coat is the outfit // Chunky silver necklace // Unreliable Narrator hat
Some recent daily drivers in my beauty reg: The Ordinary Barrier Serum // Maybelline Lifter Liner // Glossier Balm Dot Com in gingersnap // Jazz Club

Cream Pants // Kettle Bell // Dumbbells // Electrolyte Drops
Those pants have been on my wishlist for a while, but I kept punting the purchase until wearing white pants would be respectable again (aka spring). Now’s the time baby!
I had a few bucks to spend on wellness thanks to a health expense account at work, so I decided to pick up some real weights for my extremely entry level lifting routine. I was using a couple of weight plates that I’d stolen from my husbands set for a long time and that was fine, but call me vain or whatever, having pretty pastel dumbbells just kind of motivates me!
And I’ll report back on the SALTT. I’m attracted to the simple, clean way to add electrolytes to a glass of water without buying a zillion of those little packages.
