A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.

Anyone else suffer from the feeling that it’s all going too fast? I’m feeling that way about October. A true treasure of a month, filled with stunning weather, a pleasant swing of cool mornings and warm afternoons, and of course, the fun of spooky season. This morning, I saw something on Insta about the last 12 weeks of the year. The last 100 days. Etc. October is going too fast. Summer went too fast. 2025 is going too fast. I’m not ready!

Wednesday is the halfway mark on October and it’s time to get serious about all the things I always say I want to do. It’s time to buy pumpkins and carve them. It’s time to make a pumpkin roll and drink a chai latte while walking through a neighborhood that takes decorations seriously. It’s time to rewatch a Harry Potter movie. It’s time to put up the bats and the orange twinkle lights. It just reminds me to enjoy the good things right now. Lest someday I wake up and think about my life going too fast, you know?

Weekly High: Our town’s fall festival was this week and it was a delight. I also had a good parent/teacher conference with my 9 y/o’s teacher. You guys, this kid has given me wrinkles. He just wakes up at 110% and has always been my wild one. A boundary pusher who wants to know what’s gonna happen if he does that thing you just asked him not to, you know what I mean? But also a sweet, loving, little boy who just happens to be a true whipper-snapper. We’re a great many things, friends! That includes our children. All that said, his teacher had great things to say and it was such a relief. I tried to open myself to appreciating that he keeps it together all day at school, no wonder he lets a little loose at home.

Weekly Low: Being so addicted to my phone. Maybe it feels particularly excessive because I’m trying to pay attention to it, but it just seems like I had zero control over my impulses. My fingers itch to pick it up all the time. But we try again next time!

Images are links!

Abercrombie & Fitch Brushed Sweats // Comes in so many good colors. Red! Light gray! Brown! I just love the way a set makes me feel put together even when I’m effectively wearing pajamas.

Adidas Breaknet Sneakers // Boy, have I been hunting for a pair of sneakers to wear with wide leg jeans and structured trench coats. I picked these up on Prime Day for a steal! Still marked down to under $50.

All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker // Currently reading with my bookclub. It’s thriller-ish without being absolutely terrifying, but still very much a page turner. Patch and Saint are 13 y/o best friends when Patch is kidnapped by a local serial killer.

Amazon Long Sleeve Polo // Another Prime Day scoop that I’ve very pleased with. A boring basic, but will come in handy this winter when I’m most interested in looking professional and staying warm. A good boring basic!

GAP Crewneck Sweater // How cheerful is this sweater?!

GAP High Rise Wide Leg Flares // Literally over the weekend, I’ve become obsessed with flares. It’s like 5th grade all over again, but I’ve officially sworn off my skinnies in favor of looser fits.

Minecraft Magnetic Blocks // Picked these up for a Christmas present. Now to stash them away and not forget where I hid them!

Old Navy High Waisted Wide Leg Sweats // Extremely high waisted and extremely flared. Hello!
