In My Heart -

Hello! October is in full swing and isn’t it wonderful? Last weekend we enjoyed what I suspect(ed) to be our last really hot weather. It was 85º on Sunday and I had all the windows flung open to let in the final gasps of fresh air. On Monday, the temperature dropped, the clouds rolled in, and the leaves started to drop. Very vibey indeed for spooky season, but I was not ready to haul out my winter coat for an evening walk on Wednesday. Alas.

If you’ve been following along, I’d like to report that we started watching Hocus Pocus this week, right on schedule.

This weekend is our small town’s fall festival, in which the highlight is invariably the pumpkin drop. I don’t know where the car comes from, but every year, promptly at 3pm, a big ol’ pumpkin gets hoisted up on a crane and dropped on an old beater. Sometimes you get a little splash of pumpkin guts on ya!

In other news, I finally gave the new Swifty album a listen. Actually it was a lovely night. I am not a passionate missionary for Taylor, but I’ll bop with the radio and the discourse is frankly pop culture phenomena, which I like to be able to contribute to, so I decided to put on my headphones and give the full album a listen while putting together a puzzle after dinner one night. First lesson of the evening, what a nice way to relax! Noise cancelling headphones, a puzzle, and new bops? Is this a routine to take up? I think so! Anyway, I don’t have strong feelings one way or another, but I did enjoy a few songs and that Ophelia number has become a brainworm.

In My Cart -

Big week for buying things, eh? I mostly grabbed coffee and batteries during the Prime Day sale, but I did get a couple Christmas gifts and I can finally stop talking about sneakers, because I ordered these. Done, I promise.

+Old Navy has a few things I’m interested in, which comes as a surprise to nobody. Yesterday, I ordered some high-waisted leggings and micro fleece pants, as well as this t-shirt basic (for $8!).

+I bought a couple of these basic long sleeve polos this week. Very good, but size up!

+I’m a sucker for the glossier balms and the seasonal launch is particularly tempting.

+A very good find! I’d like to outfit myself for the next six months in this set (top + bottom). Red or gray? Or maybe brown?

+Spendy, but wow. This blurring foundation knocked my socks off this week. It’s truly a filter.
