In My Heart -
+Cleared my first week of work at my new job! And boy do I feel like an old dog trying to learn new tricks. I’m really in the same industry and very similar position, but trying to remember new specs and processes is giving this brain that loves muscle memory a real work out. And the hardest part of onboarding? I’ve been on a Mac for 12 years and had to make the changeover to a PC this week. The number of times I’ve silently thought “how the FUCK does this work” and “where the FUCK is xyz” at my desk. You should see me trying to turn the camera on during a Teams call. Haha. New things are good for us! I’ll get the hang of it eventually.
+In other news, I had an appointment yesterday to apply for a passport and as usual, I inflated the whole process in my head. I thought it’d be so complicated, but really I just showed up with my application, signed it in front of the guy and he snapped my picture. Oh and took some money of course, but et voila! I should probably knock on wood because it felt way too easy, but now I have to wait patiently to receive the passport. I have a work trip scheduled in May to visit Barcelona and I am extremely excited. Queing up duolingo ASAP to refresh some of that espanol that I haven’t thought about since high school.
+I’m itchy to do some spring cleaning and house projects. Consulting with Pinterest regularly!
In My Cart -
+Shopping for a pair of Raybans. My pair is pretty banged up after years of service. I’m loyal to the brand because I find the aviators so chic and timeless so I expect to stick with what I already love, but they’re an investment and frankly a commitment because they last, so I’m taking my time to pick the right frames.
+Anyone thinking ahead to Easter baskets yet? I usually fly by the seat of my pants, but I’ve had my eye on a few things: carrot shaped “eggs” // egg slime // Cute! Animal mini-figs // Paint-by-sticker is always a slam dunk at my house.

+Currently reading the sequel to Wolf Hall. I can’t put this trilogy down!
+Made this extremely simple dinner this week and it was a hit!

+Interesting for history nerds: JFK from 1938-1963
+Repurposing regrettable beauty buys from Take Care of Yourself has inspired me to do something with the $30 pillow talk pencil that I cannot stomach tossing in the trash even though it looks orange on my lips.
+Borrowed this idea from @thecattspjs - I kept a note on my phone all month of small good things that happened and it was a joy to review/remember it all at the end!
