A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.
Hello! I hope you are having a lovely weekend and month and day or whatever it may be when you land here! As for me, it’s a Sunday morning and I’ve just slept in on my favorite sheets (small joys!) and had a good cup of coffee. I’m raring to go, feeling equal parts productive and relaxed. I have big plans to do a load of laundry, tidy up the house, and settle in to watch an episode of Love Story.
Speaking of, Sarah Pidgeon gives me real hair envy with her long wavy blonde hair. Allegedly, hers is a $10,000 job, which makes my eyes pop out of my head, but at least it explains why it’s sooo good. My own hair (a $100 job at best) is at a length that I don’t love and always leaves me itchy to cut it back into a bob, but I want to grow it out for the summer, if only to facilitate throwing it up in a claw clip or a high pony. I hate having my hair on my face when it’s hot and sticky, so I have to suffer for a few weeks. All in the name of beauty (and comfort!).
Anyway! I’d like to steer back to more current pleasures, but frankly my head is fully focused on the next season. I’ve hit my winter wall, I’m so sick of the gray, cold, and wet. It’s here to stay for another month or so, but we are starting to get some delicious peeks at warmer weather. I’ve shifted my shopping to spring and baby, it’s keeping me aliiiiive right now.

AE Sunchaser Smocked Maxi Dress // Doesn’t this just feel like summer? I think butter yellow is here for another season and the stripes on this number feel extremely whimsy. Very on brand for a casual dinner or beach cover, I think!
Lipsmacker Variety Pack // Are you freaking kidding me? You can still buy these things and they’re only $10 for the whole pack? Sold. Immediately sold.
Daisy Chain Bracelets // Staying on track for whimsy, I love these daisy bead bracelets I found on Etsy.
Keds Pink and Red Sneakers // Keds feels like a blast from the past, because my mom was always buying them for me when I was a kid. Retro indeed!
Aerie Skinny Oval Sunglasses in Butter Yellow // CBK would never wear yellow glasses, but she would wear skinny lenses, so it’s a nice combo of two trends I’m into right now. 90’s but make it whimsical, you know?
Beetles Lavender Milk Gel Nail Polish // Delighted to find this at Target. It’s a good color for spring, but I’ll say it leans more milk than lavender, which is to say it’s a very light color.
Mrs Meyers Rhubarb Hand Soap // It’s literally $4 and arguably one of the best hand soaps on the market. The scents are unreal and I especially love this Rhubarb scent for spring.
make it fast by Caro Chambers // Okay this is delayed gratification since it doesn’t come out until this summer, but Caro Chamber’s first cookbook has been such a staple in my kitchen for it’s easy, no fuss recipes. I’ll almost certainly add this to my personal library when it becomes available.
Old Navy Pixie Flare + Pixie Super Wide Leg // I am woefully short on dress pants for work and I have a couple trips lined up in April and May. I needed something inexpensive and packable and these both do the trick. I got them both in my true size, but I’d size up on the Pixie Flares. Looking at the photos, I suspect they’re meant to be quite fitted, but they’re borderline tight, which isn’t a great look if you're wearing these professionally. Personally speaking of course! The Super Wide Legs were perfect in my normal size.
Aerie Sunday Soft Crew Sweater // I am a sucker for stripes and especially black and white. I just think this is a great color way in a super soft crew neck style. Win win!
