A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.

Gosh, last night I wound up in the deepest pits of Google. I was reading about horse diving which is exactly what it sounds like: horses “trained” or tricked rather, to dive head first into a body of water from a diving board some 40’ - 60’ up. Animals abide by the laws of nature which are to survive all the time, and they never share the trait that is so unique human: feel alive by doing something stupid. You know what I mean? WE ride roller coasters and WE climb absurd mountains. We have to prove our dominance or something, IDK. I just don’t think horses have that, so I’m a little skeptical about the ethics of a horse diving. Anyway, the practice went out of style in the 1970’s.

See how far I got into this? I was laying there in bed, learning all there is to know about horse diving and the performer to literally went blind because she kept her eyes open when she and the horse hit the water. She continued to participate in horse diving for 11 more years by the way - blind! I knew I was too deep though when my google suggestions looked like this -

How do you say “hi” in horse language?! Babe, put down the phone. Close YOUR eyes. Go to sleep. And so I did, but wow, what a journey.

Images are links! And they’re affiliate links. You’ve been on the internet before, you know what this means. I may earn a commission if you make a purchase, but never at any additional cost to you!

50 Things to Do in the Wild by Richard Skrein // Feels like a fun read for a 9 y/o boy with lots of summertime hours to fill, no?

Beetles “Lemon Cheesecake” Gel Polish // I know, I’m late to the “butter yellow” trend, but I’ve made it and boy does this color look good with a summer tan. I have this on my fingers now and I think I’ll keep it up through the end of Q3.

GAP Vegan Suede Bucket Bag // I’m on the hunt for a new work bag and this baby is a Mary Poppins bag that will hold a laptop, lunch and probably a pair of snow boots.

Bubly Melted Ice Pop Sparkling Water // I squealed when I saw this stocked at Target. It’s a seasonal flavor that tastes like summertime to me. I picked up 3 cases.

Sun Bum Lip 30 // Do not to forget to put sunblock on your lips, gals! This is sticky and thick, which I like in a gloss (grew up in the 00’s, I can’t help it).

The River is Waiting by Wally Lamb // Currently reading. I enjoy most of Lamb’s books - his writing is impeccable - but the front end of this book is tragic and I’m wincing as I read it.

Urban Outfitters Bowler Bag // Hm. Not sure what a “bowler” bag is, but I’m into the stripes.

Summer 2026 Dailies // A few current daily drivers.

Happy Weekending!
