A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.

And we’re back to regularly scheduled programing! I know this is probably only important to me, but I take a great deal of pride in getting three posts written every week. Baby girl’s gotta get up at 5am and chip away at it in those early AM pockets before work every day to make it happen, and the last few weeks have been a GD blur. Memorial Day, that literal guilt trip I mentioned yesterday, the allure of sleeping, etc. But I made it happen this week and that feels like a promotable achievement.

Anyhoo! Let’s get into weekly highs and lows and then I’ll tell you what I’m eyeing and buying these days.

Weekly High // First beach day of the year! Man did it feel good to load up a cooler with sandwiches and the best sparkly water on the market and march across the sand to set up shop for the day. We’ve have some nice days sprinkled in here and there, but they all seem to land on a Monday, which is not conducive to the all day beach sit. We finally got a good day on a weekend and I took full advantage. I had those kids out of the house at 10:30am and we made a full day out of cooking in the sun. The water was cold, not that it deters kids AT ALL, so I perched up on a beach towel and read all afternoon, unbothered. What a treat!

Weekly Low // On Wednesday, I had a project I’m working on at the office go fully sideways and I hemmed and hawed on how to handle it for a solid 24 hours. I thought about it while I laid in bed. I dreamed about it. I woke up thinking about it. Finally I made the decision to talk to the client about it directly and we came up with a solution in under 30 minutes. It didn’t feel good to be so caught up in it, but I’m not sorry that I took my time to really think about how I wanted to approach the problem, because when I finally talked with the client, I was calm and collected and armed with some ideas. But man, was it a rough 24 hours.

A friendly reminder that pretty much everything is solvable! Onward!

As usual, images are direct links fam!

Bad Day to be a Hot Dog // Every day has the capacity to be a bad day for a hot dog, but especially every day in the summer. And double especially the 4th of July.

GAP Eva Flip Flops // In the shade that clutches my heart. I am two years into my blue era.

GAP Matching TOP + BOTTOM // The hot pink calls to me. But also comes in pragmatic colors like navy and black if neutrals is more your thing.

Striped Melamine Plates from Target // Looks like a paper plate, but cuter and my kids cannot break these suckers. Sounds perfect to me. Load ‘er up with the aforementioned hot dog who is having a bad day.

Striped Tote // Reversible and water resistant. If there is anything more perfect for shoving books, towels, snacks, whatever and hauling to the beach, please report to the class. This one is $10 and ya can’t beat that.

Good Vibes and Tequila // Once again, it’s the shade of blue for me, but also I cannot argue the messaging.

World Travel: An Irreverent Guide by Anthony Bourdain // A recently very enjoyed read. Each chapter feels like an episode of No Reservations or Parts Unknown.

The Ordinary Azelaic Acid // If you want clear beautiful skin, please trust me on this $12 tube of miracles. It just clears out your pores or something because you will wake up with perfectly even tone and zero blemishes. I started using it on my neck - buckle up because this is gross and vulnerable - because I get a weird spray of acne in the summer time that I think is because of sweat and hair products. Anyway, I’ve been applying this religiously and so far, we are clean and clear!
