A few things I enjoyed recently and maybe you will too.
Yesterday afternoon, I took a nap, woke up, drank some coffee, and then spent an hour purging my closet. The energy a Saturday afternoon nap delivers, you know! I decided to swap out my winter stuff for my summer stuff and tossed so much in the giveaway pile, it was absurd. I should really stop buying so many clothes. Or actually, I should return things that don’t fit. The dumbest thing I do - all the freaking time, too - is keep things that require me to lose 5lbs. I’ve been saying I”m going to lose 5-10lbs for the last 5 years. At some point, I have to accept that these shorts are never going to fit.
Anyway, it felt like deep psychological work. I finally pitched the dress pants I wore daily to my first corporate job 11 years ago (!!!). That was pre kids and if we want to talk about pants that will never fit again. Those babies are 20lbs ago. Lol forever. I have no idea why I hung on to them. I haven’t worked in a place that requires dress pants and blazers for more than a decade, and yet they hung, pressed and carefully folded on hangers, in the back of my closet. To be clear, I have had to move these with me to two different houses since I left that job, so it was an active choice to keep them.
Feels good to have that big project out of the way! Now let’s get into some highs and lows for the week.
Weekly High // I’ve been back on my bullshit, aka running again. I kept up walking through the winter, but retired my running shoes for a few months when it was really cold and dark. Well, I laced back up last Saturday and folks, it was like riding a bike! I didn’t really push myself but it kind of surprised me how long I could jog along without dying. When I first started running last year, I could do like, one minute before gasping for air. It still sort of felt like a mini heart attack, but like, in a good way.
Weekly Low // I had a one-on-one at work on Friday and I had to whisper this because I’m afraid of alerting the universe, so obviously my boss thinks I’m crazy, but like nothing bad is happening lately. “So you’re fine?” he asked at full volume. I nodded. Yeah, I’m fine. No lows to report.

Be Ready When the Luck Happens by Ina Garten // What a joyful read! I have been in such a reading slump lately and I picked this up on a whim, which was such good luck! And how apt given the title of the book. This memoir catalogs Ina Garten’s career and captures the joie de vivre with which she lives. She makes some wild decisions, but it all somehow works out for her. I loved it!
Colorful Sneaker Round Up Pt. 2 // I’m on a real bender with brightly colored shoes. Round two as I continue to shop for the perfect pair.
The Gap Color Block Swimsuit // My dream swim suit. I’m in a real era of “cover my buns” and this does the trick beautifully.
Old Navy Striped Sandals // Stripes will always get me and I like the rugged look of these.
Old Navy Linen Blend Mini // I profess my love for Old Navy often and this mini is at the perfect example of why. Crisp, casual, cute.
Old Navy Snug Fit Pajamas for kiddos // My boys are too big for this kind of thing, but themed jammies sure bring back the happy memories!
Urban Outfitters Sunnies // $15 smackeroos for these cat-eyes, so I won’t feel guilty tossing them in a purse or beach bag.
Gray Malin Puzzle // God, I will go so hard for this line of boujee dog puzzles. Like, how do you even get a picture like this? There must be so many treats behind this camera.
